What Yi includes

Read the image and the reflection separately
People, gestures, objects and spatial relationships can be starting points for observation. Yi’s text helps organize your present situation; it does not claim to unify every historical tradition. Each page credits its image and labels modern examples separately. Clothing adjustments on some images are also disclosed.
Bring a striking title back to a concrete question
Titles such as Death or the Tower can provoke strong associations. Read the image and notes, then ask what has actually ended or which arrangement has changed. A card title is not evidence of an event. Verifiable facts and a step within your control are more useful than guessing an outcome.
From an observation to a decision
- Question
- Observe (optional)
- Cast
- Interpret
- Decide
- Review
Choose an observation that matters to you and turn it into an open question. In Yi, start a cast yourself, study its classical sources, record your decision and return to review it. Cards provide context; they do not select a hexagram.
